Your Comments - An Aid For Draining Infections
by Debbie
I have so enjoyed your site! I have used several of my grandmama’ remedies for years and found that they work as good today as they did when I was a child. I have often wished that I had had the forsight to write down more of her cures before the good Lord took her. When I found your page I was so pleased to find many of those cures already written down and used by others. My grandmama was considered the expert in our community on healing and often made rounds with our local doctor. She not only aided the doctor but also carried gift baskets to help the household they were visiting. She took a teaspoon of turpentine with sugar everyday of her life and was able to teach her grandchildren hopscotch and would even climb on her roof to clean out the gutters at the age of 80 (she lived to be 90).

One cure that has worked many times is as follows:

Place a piece of fat back on gauze and layer with gauze soaked in turpentine & cover with gauze. Place this on the infected area with the turpentine at the top overnight. The next morning the infection will have been drawn into the gauze and the wound, boil, or punctured cyst will be clean.
